Unihertz, Announces the Kickstarter Launch of Atom – The World’s Smallest 4G Rugged Smartphone
Today, the Shanghai-based mobile phone innovators Unihertz announced the launch of Atom – The World’s Smallest 4G Rugged Smartphone that is IP68 certified. Atom takes the concept of the miniaturized smartphone and makes it tough enough for outdoor activities. It is available now on Kickstarter here.
https://goo.gl/VQ3CuG Unihertz pioneered the idea of a mini-smartphone when they introduced Jelly, the first mini-smartphone with 4G. Jelly’s powerful technology and small size made it a huge hit and its successful Kickstarter campaign went on to earn over one million USD with the support of over 10,000 backers.
Now the Unihertz team has taken the best of Jelly and added essential features that create the world’s smallest rugged 4G smartphone for heavy duty applications and outdoor activities. With Atom, travelers, sports enthusiasts and outdoor adventurers have a tough, reliable and fast 4G phone that can go with them anywhere.
As flagship smartphones have gotten ever larger, more complicated and more fragile, the idea of having a secondary phone for outings, travel and sports has become popular. Mini-smartphones include the most essential features and are reliable and small enough to make them a great alternative. Feedback from their previous phone release informed the Unihertz team that many users desired a sturdy and weatherproof outdoor phone for sports and more.
“We received incredibly valuable feedback from our first 4G mini-smartphone, Jelly. Users loved the portability and the option of leaving their large screens and expensive primary phones at home, but they wanted a phone tough enough for outdoor activities, trips to the beach and sports. We based Atom on those requirements. We made it extra strong, shockproof, and waterproof, while still delivering all the features and the fast 4G connectivity that made Jelly so powerful.” Stephen, Founder&CEO Unihertz
Atom measures just 96mm X 45mm and only 18mm thick and features a 2.45inch touchscreen display. However, its mini-sized design doesn't diminish its powerful features. It runs the popular Android 8.1 Oreo operating system that is compatible with thousands of apps and includes essential modern features such as an Octa-core CPU, fingerprint scanner, NFC capabilities, USB OTG, Corning Gorilla Glass and its 4G compatibility provides high-speed connectivity on all major worldwide phone networks.
For travel and convenience, Atom has dual Nano SIM cards, perfect for travel or a second phone number. And unlike other dual SIM phones where one SIM operates on the slower GSM network, Atom supports both SIM cards on the extremely fast 4G network, something that travelers and business people will appreciate.
Atom is available now on Kickstarter with special pricing for early adopters and loyal fans.
